David Lee lived in Slough and owned a garage opposite Upton Hospital. He passed away in January 2021.

He originally owned Wellesley Autos / David Lee Autos on Albert St opposite Upton Hospital. In addition to repairs and selling used cars, he also ventured into selling Polski Fiats, Ladas, Yaks, and Moskvitch cars, going to the USSR during the cold war. He sold cars, fixed cars, and even delved into selling satellite TV equipment (when the antenna was 6 feet wide!).

Dad loved to bet on the dogs and horses and had a passion for racing as a sport and would spend an hour or more every morning reading the form in the Sporting Life in preparation for the day’s races. If you asked him about a horse, he could talk your ear off about its lineage and how it ran on different courses and conditions.
