There are no words to describe the depth of our shock and grief as we share this heartbreaking news.

Our strong, beautiful, brave daughter came into this world on Friday, March 6th and she left us for heaven on Friday, March 20th.

We got to enjoy nearly 2 weeks of snuggles, kisses and irreplaceable moments. Our hearts have never been as full as they became the second she was born. She had the most expressive little face, she would always snort and grunt when trying to nurse, and she loved to sleep on her daddy’s chest.

Wednesday, March 18th, we noticed that she wasn’t interested in nursing. We had a scheduled pediatrician check-up that day and it was decided she might be a bit dehydrated. We took her in for some IV fluids and were assured all was well and we’d be home soon.

Things took an unexpected turn early Thursday morning and we were rushed by ambulance to Boston Children’s Hospital where she was put on heart/lung bypass.

She fought so hard and inspired everyone who cared for her. Her dad and I are undoubtedly better humans because of the bond we created with our little fighter.

We can’t believe how fast all this happened.

What we know is that we learned so much about love and life in the last two weeks. We love our precious girl and we are absolutely crushed that she’s gone.

Honestly, that doesn’t even begin to describe this pain.

We also know that we have to march forward and continue to live and love and serve. We will do that, bravely, to honor our Dagny.

Thank you to all who have prayed for us and our beautiful daughter. We ask for your continued prayers as we navigate this impossible journey.

We will be establishing a memorial fund to honor our precious girl and support families navigating infant crisis and loss. We thank you for giving in lieu of flowers.

There will be funeral services but we do not have those details at this time. We will respond to messages as we can, but even if we are unable to respond, please know that we remain so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from all of you.
