In lieu of flowers
Who else knew Charles?
In lieu of flowers
Personal note from Jeff, (Charles' brother)
I would like to personally thank all of you in advance for your help in this difficult time in our lives. My brother was one of the few people I knew who would literally give you the shirt off his back (even if you asked him nicely to please stop). His loss has left a whole in my life that will never be replaced, but I know the last thing he would want anyone to do is suffer because of him. I ask you to cast aside any negative feelings and join us in celebrating his life. Those memories that we each have in ourselves are his irreplaceable gift. These will be shared and he will live on inside each of us.
Please share his story and this page to all who would want to know about his untimely passing. In lieu of flowers, If you are able to make any donation to assist the family, it will be greatly appreciated.
I know all those involved in this transition are being flooded with condolences and messages. We will try to get back to you in a timely manner, but please respect if it is difficult for us at the time.
Information will be added to this page as it become available.
Update from March 19, 2022
To the few individuals that seek to wedge themselves into this situation.
Do not use the page I created for my deceased brother as a personal venting location. I will not tolerate it and it is very inappropriate. I do not care about your version of our life events and how you feel about what we consider family. It's very sad to me that I even have to mention this on here. You are free to post your rants and egregiously outdated information on your Facebook, blog, etc.
The audacity and sheer lack of a moral fibre you express is answer to why you are not included. Effort is a two way street.
God speed on your way back out of our lives. We had not a need of you all these years and I plan to go forth in this endeavor solo still.
For anyone else who unfortunately has to witness this sad situation. I apologize for these negative remarks aimed at a few delusional individuals.
I am not pretending the past never happened. I am simply stating it's nothing to hold on to. Such as a lifepresever for a ship that has already sailed away and was lost at sea.
Update from Jan. 29, 2022
I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who could came out yesterday and paid their respects to our family. I cannot express how much we thank you for all the kind words and offers to us. I understand that many people could not make it for multiple reasons. Our family knows that it is difficult in these times to schedule life for the unexpected. We are still still talking to everyone who reaches out and appreciate all the sharing of this page that has happened so far. I only wish my brother could have seen how much he was loved and how much his life impacted so many others.
Update from Jan. 24, 2022
There is a misunderstanding for the type of event we have posted and that I would like to clarify on this matter. This event we are planning is not a traditional funeral. There will be no wake, viewing, or any physical remains of Charles at this private event. This benefit has been arranged by the people listed as the survivors and is again a PRIVATE EVENT. Any and all other persons from either side of the biological "father" or biological "mother" are not welcome to attend. These persons will be barred from entry and will be escorted off of the premises.
Charles "Charlie" Christopher Schumacher, 36, passed away on January 21st 2022.
Charles was known for being a loving man and seemed to make friends everywhere he went. He was not one to turn down an opportunity to help those around him. He did not care if he knew you a lifetime or five minutes. Charles would bring happiness to those in his presence and was known for being a fellow of infinite jest.
Charles would …
