To Hospice Care of the LowCountry ,
RE: Michael E McManus
First things First, Thank You!
You have been the glue that has kept our family together during this very difficult time. The empathy and compassion of my brothers hospice team is what gave us strength and guided us through this journey. We could not have done it without you and we will be forever grateful.
My brother, Michael, entered into hospice in September 2018 with terminal cancer. He was a complicated case with unique circumstances that made him particularly challenging. In addition to his cancer, he has epilepsy with memory loss. This would have been too complicated for many, but not for you.
So, I thank each and every one of you.
To Leslie, the treatment and management of my brother's needs was exceptional. I cannot thank you enough for your honesty and professionalism. You treated Michael with dignity and respect and my gratitude goes beyond words. I know my brother’s care was demanding and unforgiving, but you never wavered. You added a humane touch to his care, finding humor in difficult situations, with a kindhearted attitude. You don’t have an easy job, but you carry yourself with grace. The understanding and compassion you showed our family is something I will carry with me forever.
To Charlie, thank you for not giving up on him, and doing everything in your power to prepare him for the end of his journey. He was difficult and unreceptive at times but your perseverance is what helped him reconnect to his spiritual side. I'm so glad you were there with us in his final moments, I know he felt your presence. Thank you for listening to my many questions and concerns without prejudice. More importantly, for keeping an open line of communication with my family while providing us with constant emotional support. I know I couldn't have made it through the last few months without your help. Your guidance and support is a gift and I will always cherish the time Michael and I spent with you.
To Pat, Your ability to build a unique human relationship while responding sensitively to Michael's struggles allowed him to maintain his dignity. You are an authentic and dedicated person who impressed us all with your genuine care and support. He enjoyed every minute he spent with you. I will always remember the fun he had and the laughter I heard between the two of you during your visits. You were exactly what he needed and It warms my heart to think of you and the care you provided him.
To everyone else, thank you for all that you have done for my brother, my family and myself.
Hospice Care of The LowCountry is an exceptional service that allowed my brother to spend his last months in a familiar atmosphere with his family. Under the extraordinary leadership of Leslie, the entire staff worked endlessly toward his care and the well-being of our family. I feel fortunate to have you all in my life and will be forever grateful.
Sincerely,
Susan Brown

Hospice Care of the Lowcountry is providing the best medical care and support for loved ones in Hilton Head, Bluffton and Beaufort County. 30+ years of experience working with physicians and medical staff, plus hundreds of volunteers, ensured my friend was not alone. Programs like Hos-Pets, We Honor Veterans, and Kids Path really make a difference and no other local hospice offers these services.

I am very impressed with this organization's staff and their continued excellence in helping clients and families through extremely difficult times. It takes a special person to work with end of life service, and they have an entire team of these special individuals!!
