I started out very hopeful that Capstone would be a great help for my mother who has terminal cancer because I was completely impressed with the responsiveness of Kelli Blount, the nurse coordinator, who explained the difference between palliative and hospice care. We decided that palliative is what my mother needed for now while going through radiation treatments, with an eventual transition to hospice at some point, depending on the growth rate of the cancer. I asked if my dad and I could speak with a potential caregiver to make sure she would be a good fit because my mother can be very difficult to deal with since she also has dementia. That call was arranged, but the nurse never showed. To be fair, she had told me she might be "a few minutes late" and she would text me when she was ready which was fine with us. I texted her 45 minutes later (way more than "a few minutes" in my opinion) to see if we were still on, and she texted back an hour later..."I'm sorry, would you like to reschedule?" I find this extremely unprofessional. I understand if there are emergencies, but she said she was "almost finished with PT" which didn't sound like an emergency. She made me and my father wait for over an hour before we heard anything from her. I am well aware that patients are at the mercy of their caregivers when it comes to healthcare services, but I do believe there needs to be an element of professionalism from an industry people have high expectations of. This is not the cable company, afterall. I would not treat clients or customers so lackadaisically. This is simply a complaint about lack of professionalism and not a reflection on the actual services that Capstone provides since we never got to that point. When I finally spoke with the coordinator again, she basically told me that palliative care is not needed for my mother until she is ready for hospice. Why that changed, I don't know, but when we are at that point, I will be looking for another provider.

My brother and I have so much appreciation for the Capstone Hospice team. As with most families this can be an extremely emotional time and uncharted territory for those who never had to use hospice services. From the moment they stepped in it was such a relief starting with our nurse, Lisa Hardy. It was a tremendous burden lifted for us with all of the decisions and costs. My brother had the most interaction with the other staff members and he had glowing reviews for Miracle Bell and others whose names I cannot identify. Brandy Mazloum was a great resource of information and always willing to help. Melvin Bell was in contact on numerous occasions for emotional support. I wish I could name the other team members but anyone that took care of my mom, Edith Young were all amazing. Please let them know how we appreciate all of their efforts.

I would not leave my dog in the care of these people. After they were requested to no longer come back, and were forbidden by the management to be with our loved one, they were caught back in the building. Let's just say.... if I could rate with no stars, I would, but since I have to--1 star is entirely too many.

I highly recommend Capstone. Sadly, we had to use them twice this year. The nurses were so kind. The owner even came out to admit my granny and he was very informative and caring.
