Ray — I had the misfortune of having a nurse by the name of Shaneen Johnston care for my Dad. I had asked her for medicine that was suppose to be ordered for him by the admitting nurse the day before, and since not being familiar with end of life care was unaware of what he might need, and was told that she... Read more would talk to the nurse on Monday. She came to see my Dad on Sunday and although he was still doing okay I again asked for the medicine, and again was brushed off. Sunday evening my Dad began to suffer so I called Shaneen telling her I needed the medicine now. She informed me she would contact the doctor. I waited around a half hour and called her back, where she responded that she was on hold with the pharmacy and hung up to take my call. I told her that my Dad was suffering and if she wasn't so lazy I would of had the medicine by now, where she responded by saying she was now going to hang up on me, which she did. I called the service and they paged her supervisor who to ordered the medicine. I called on Monday to file a complaint with the district manager Karen Garllle who told me she would look into it and get back to me but she never did. I called a second time and spoke to Karen and she told me Shaneen told her a different story. I informed her that Shaneen was now lying and was told she would look into it further which and get back to me but again never did, so I called her again and asked for the cooperate number. I heard back from a woman (couldn't get her name since I was walking) she let me know that at the end of the day from when I contacted Shaneen till when I received the medicine was ONLY two hours. I had informed her that I had tried to get the medicine from the day before and felt that Shaneen was negligent in not following through. Her response was she felt two hours to get a prescription written was good. All I can say is the people I spoke to were some of the most uncompassionate, unorganized people I have ever had the misfortune to come across. My Dad passed a few days later, as we knew he would but having to deal with a nurse like Shaneen, and later her supervisor Karen as well as their cooperate made the worst experience of my life so much worst. And to the woman I spoke to from their cooperate, I only hope that she is in the same situation some day and still feels that having to wait two hours for medicine to help a loved one in pain is a good time. I have filed a complaint with the State of CT concerning miss Johnston. Read less

Pretty Celt — Very disorganized and demanding. Focus is on numbers (quantity) over quality of care. The CEO in the Orange office was pushing numbers and accepting referrals (admissions) without the appropriate nursing staff to provide quality and safe/ethical care to the dying patients and their families.
