Shawn got the best care with Hospice. His nurse Francesca was a ray of sunshine. The nurses that came to our house were so compassionate even as they prepared his body for the crematorium to pick him up. Our family could never have done this journey without their help and guidance.

Hired to take care of my elderly mother (82). On more than one occasion, this company NEVER SHOWED UP, or arrived hours later. Each time it was because someone called out. 10/13/19 they left my mother sitting in urine and she had fallen out of her chair. THIS IS ELDER ABUSE. The excuse (once again) was someone had called out and they didn't have the staffing to come out. They claimed they called to inform us but NO MISSED CALLS were on ANY of our several lines. At $23 per hour I would expect better care. PLEASE DO YOUR LOVED ONE a favor and hire someone else! I wish I did. Luckily a local friend was able to assist my mother on 10/13, 3 HOURS LATER. Several of the care givers are AWESOME. they just work for a disorganized failure of a company. This kind of lack of customer service should be illegal! DISGUSTING...

They are completely disorganized. They never present a sensible plan of care, and they will not communicate anything in writing, so you never know before a current visit what might happen even the next day. They refuse to disclose how they justify services to insurers, and will cut clinical services without clinical justification. Getting the right person on the phone to address and issue is a roll of the dice. The nursing providers are competent but the organization is only interested in money. How they qualif
y for non-profit status is a mystery.

My mom was to receive services after a hospitalization for the flu. After several calls, services were to start SIX days after discharge. Well that would be 6 days too late because she ended back in the hospital for another week with pneumonia. She went to rehab for 2 weeks with home services to start AGAIN at discharge. I was assured by the facility everything was in order. WRONG! Nursing services finally started on day 2 of being home. It took PT 5 days to call to set up a visit and he wanted to make it in another 2 days which would be 7 days after discharge. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE and I made sure he knew that. He was there later the same day. A RN visit needed to be rescheduled because of an MD appt and the nurse NEVER showed up for the rescheduled appt. Another displeased phone of 20 minutes duration was to follow. I was assured by the "coordinator" I spoke to that she would look into and get back to me after the weekend. Wait for it.......NO ONE EVER CALLED TO ME BACK. I have been in healthcare for over 25 years and if I treated my patients and their family as we were, I would be unemployed. Take my advice and PICK ANOTHER HOME CARE AGENCY!!

My sister, after a fall and unsuccessful back surgery, became a paraplegic. For seven months she was first in rehabilitation, then in long term care, where she developed stage 3 pressure sores on one heel, both legs, and her lower back. At that point I decided to take her home and signed up with Hartford Health Care at Home. In my opinion this was the best decision I have ever made. First the clinical manager came to assess my sister's needs. All supplies for dressing the wounds were ordered. In the beginning the nurses came almost daily to take her vital signs and dress the wounds (the nurses were very shock when they first looked at her wounds). My sister was also sent to the Hartford Hospital Wound Center where the doctor gave wound treatment instructions. I can not say enough about the knowledgeable, dedicated, and compassionate nurses, and other staff members that are working for Hartford Health Care at Home. Within three to four months most of the wounds were healed. If I had not taken my sister home, when I did, she probably would have ended up with stage 4 pressure sores; therefore, I will be for ever grateful to the doctor at Hartford Hospital Wound Center and to the nurses and other staff members at the Hartford Health Care at Home for the outstanding treatment of my sister.

After a fall at home, subsequent hip fracture and repair my mother returned home and we arranged a Lifeline just in case she took another spill.Service was fine, however at $29.95 a month for "Monitoring" not at all inexpensive. When my Mom passed away on 6/17, a call was made on 6/18 to cancel service.Apparently that's where Hartford Healthcare's care and compassion fades for they really just care about collecting their fee-even though the monitoring was done. Shame on you for not waving a half month of monitoring, for I am a primary care PCP and will never recommend you to my patients who need a Lifeline monitor ,for who wants to work with an agency who capitalizes on collecting more than what is fair, and fails to realize that returning a monitor takes a backseat to saying goodbye to a family member!!
