Reviews for Kindred Hospice
I don’t even know where to begin. This home health company has caused one disaster after another for my family. In the end, we fired the whole lot. We lost my daddy in 2015, a month after my son was born. Mum tried to stay in her home in Texas, but it was too much for her. Eventually, we bought a family home together, and my mom had an entire floor to herself, she was right downstairs so I could manage her care and needs fairly easily. I don’t know who said what to whom, but there are a lot of unanswered questions, conflicting advice and all around shadiness. This resulted in my mom telling me that her Kindred team had convinced her to move into an independent senior community, and she wanted to go. As my mom was deemed capable of making decisions for herself, I helped her find a lovely independent facility. During her short stay there, she lit the stove on fire, her doggie companion died and she fell and broke her pelvis. So thanks for that sound advice Kindred! And yet, they had the audacity to complain that they were having to do more and more for her. Well, yes. Because when she lived with me, I did all of that. Did they expect a miracle? Then, when my mom had a terrible infection in her legs, the nurse, Karla, told her they looked good. Mum's doctor and I disagreed. In fact, her PCP contacted Infectious Disease specialists as he was that concerned. The last straw for me was when the RN, Karla, told me to handle Mum's antibiotics despite the fact that those pills are fatal for me. She told me to use gloves. Uh huh. And what if I breathe in the tablet powder by mistake? I asked her if she was willing to bet my life on it. Her answer was short and careless... “Yup.” She said. (I still have that text.) After that, we all fired them. My mom's doctor, my mom, me and an RN at Matthews Vu. The only good thing Kindred had going for my mom was a lady named Darlene. This lady is the best you'll ever find. She genuinely cares, and her dedication is outstanding! She is the real deal. So the one star I have given goes to her. Otherwise, if you hire Kindred, I recommend you supervise them, or they’ll turn your life upside down too. Better yet, use a different company.
