College Park Cemetery

My parents and sister are buried at College Park Cemetery but there had never been a headstone placed there. I would like information about how I can go about doing this for them. We have a monument maker in Sharpsburg, Ga......we live in Senoia.....can we go to this place and order a headstone and have it delivered to College Park Cemetery? And, can they place it on the gravesite? Or does it have to be done by CP Cemetery? The names of my parents are Lee and Anne Turner and my sister's name is Dorothy Lee. It has been a number of years since they died and I have wanting to do this for a long time. Now I am OLD and I need to get this dons ASAP. Thank you for your help in this. Denise Kaminski — Management at this cemetery are kind and accommodating and tell you anything you want to hear at the moment to get you to sign a contract. They get you at one of the most vulnerable times of your life and get you locked into decisions with little or misleading information. I bought 4 plots and asked... Read more to have my husband laid to rest in the second plot. Most people would count plots from left to right, these idiots counted from right to left. My husband is not in the spot I thought he was in. They are disorganized, have no clear map of plots available and can not mark out plots that are available.

Maintenance is second rate, they will mow down anything that is in their way and if the mowers don’t destroy personal mementos, the guys with the string trimmers will. Furthermore, my plot is infested with fire ants. There used to be a fence encircling the cemetery, it was old and in bad shape. Appropriately, it was taken down, that was many years ago. To date, no fence has replaced it. That leaves the cemetery open to all kinds of foot traffic and trash floating around.

My family had selected this cemetery strictly out of location without any knowledge of its practices and ethics. I am so sorry I did.

I purchased a custom monument from a sister company. That is were the real heartache began. My very last gift to my husband took three years to complete (not entirely their fault). Sketches were made, renderings were done and
redone, proofs signed (and there were many). I was concerned about the size of the monument in connection to its location. I was told there was an easement behind my plots and that the monument could be pushed back into the easement so that it wouldn’t look so crowded. This item was not put into the contract. During the manufacturing of the monument I caught Blake Blomquist in several lies and deceptions including his use of “we” referring to his company only to find out the job had been subcontracted out twice. I was never allowed to see the monument in progress (it was in China) or any of the other components (a bronze cross) because the camera on his phone was broken, it was lost, it was all wrapped up for shipment. I didn’t get to see it until in was installed in the monument. It could have been made better, had I seen it. For a year I had been telling the cemetery that I must be told when it was to be installed as I wanted to be there to be sure it was put in the right place. I received an “oops” text after its installation was complete. I was and still am furious. And to make matters worse, they painted black stripes on the fluted columns, it looks like a carnival pole. The whole monument looks ridiculous, I can’t even go there.
All I have is a $21,000 disaster.
Buyer beware, these manipulators will take advantage of you in your time of grief.

jeannie cummings — Sadly, almost my entire family is buried here, & when I stopped by last week, I noticed a missing vase off my grandparents marker! The cemetery offers to replace for half price!!! Humm?! Unacceptable & pretty pathetic! Good thing many of us living have decided to be cremated!
