FOR ANYONE WITH RESPIRATORY Problems or any health ISSUES - LISTEN UP- GORDON OAKS FOR SOME REASON ALLOWS RESIDENTS to SMOKE CIGARETTES IN THE A & B BUILDINGS RECENTLY- WHICH IS A HEALTH & SAFETY HAZARD FOR OTHER RESIDENTS AND CAREGIVERS.... Read more I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. EVER. They overcharge their residents in my opinion as well. Find another place or Gordon Oaks should just become more considerate. However, in the nursing home side- some of the staff nurses and office/maintenance staff are friendly- but overall whoever owns the independent living place- sucks. Dear owner: Don't LET Residents or anyone to SMOKE IN THE BUILDINGS or "apartments" AT ALL.. IF the owners can mAke it 100% smoke-free indoors- THEN maybe I'll alter this post. Read less

Wendy Mathis — My mother was sent to this place by hospital. She only lasted one week. Buried on the next. Mom told me response time to her was bad. I checked with nurse and longest response time was 12 minutes. When she died after being there for a week. I checked response time again. It took them 17 minutes to get... Read more to her. I went to see mom at hospital they was nice enough to leave her body there for us. Please do not take your loved ones to this hell. Read less

Tony Boone — Gordon Oaks is a dangerous place to put a loved one. They provide the very least care they can get away with and if you call them out for failing to provide care pursuant to current standards of nursing care they will call the police and have you barred from visiting your loved one. When I saw my mother for the first time after being transferred to Gordon Oaks they had put her in a wheelchair that didn't fit her which caused 3+ edema in her right leg, she had sores on her lips and dried skin I had to peel off of her tongue because they failed to keep her hydrated, and they repeatedly left her to sit for hours in adult diapers full of urine and stool.
The nursing staff is pathetic and are either incompetent or lazy. Repeatedly I had to ask them to change my mother and keep her clean and dry but they acted like they didn't care and repeatedly threatened to call the police.
I'm a professional registered nurse and I would never put my mother in Gordon Oaks if I were my mother's guardian. If grieves me greatly to know that my mother is in such a dangerous and poorly run facility.
If you love and care for your loved ones do not even think about putting him or her in Gordon Oaks. They very well may not survive the ordeal. Read less

Annie Phillips — Gordon Oaks is not the facility that you would want your loved ones. They are bedbug invested. We pay a considerable amount for this apartment and there is Black mold in the back of the toilets.

We were notified in the month of May that our neighbors had bedbugs and that we would have to leave our... Read more apartment for 4 hrs.My mother is paralyzed from waist down; and had just arrived in the poorest of health and we had to go through that process.

We then notified them of the bedbug issue, the washer and dryer issue as well as cable issue and we wanted to move. This is a month to month lease so we were not bound to stay' they notified other properties to turn us down due to rent being owed; when we owed them nothing. We did not want our deposit back; but we wanted it applied to our rent for the month plus we were cutting a money ordering for $500. But; being bitter about us leaving, they gave other properties a bad report regarding eviction.When we were not up for any type of eviction with them.

Since that incident it has caused my mother a hardship and we then were not able to move due to paying app fees and admin ; and being turned down for other properties. Paying one month behind so that when we move we would owe only a prorated amount to leave for the current month; they instigated eviction proceedings against us when they caused hardship. They threatened to through me out and I am my mother's care giver. I WILL NOT LET ANYONE TAKE FROM MY MOM WHAT IS NOT THEIRS.

We have again experienced another bedbug incident and they were notified and have done thing to cure the situation. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. YOU WILL REGRET IT. Read less
